Keith Urban admits men come to his shows for one reason only

Keith Urban was a guest on the “WTF With Marc Maron” podcast where he revealed a truth about his concerts that no one but Urban himself can identify.

The “Messed Up as Me” singer referenced this as he looked out at the crowd from the stage and saw guys at his shows.

Urban, a veteran of the game, can tell a few things about an audience just from playing in front of so many people. When asked what his audience is like at concerts, Urban said his audience has “always been made up of a lot of girls. If there are men in the audience, I think almost all of them are guitarists.”

The “Somebody Like You” singer chuckled as he said this.

Urban continued: “I call them the reluctant friends. I see her in the crowd. I look in the arena and see all these guys with their arms crossed.”

Urban then mimicked what the men at his shows said to themselves: “‘Ughh, she seems happy. At least I'm getting laid tonight, thank God. I just have to put up with this guy for the next two hours.'”

Hearing Urban adopt his American accent is worth a listen in itself.

Part of the fun for the superstar is looking out at the guys in the crowd at the start of the show and winning them over at the end.

“Then everything would change completely and they would go out very, very differently. But they always start out as some kind of reluctant guy who gets dragged along to the concert. I understand.”

Urban doesn't care who or what you are or not, he says: “I take everyone as a fan.” A true class act and unique artist who we are happy to have as a leader in the national community.
