Nicole Kidman explains why she appears in so many projects

Is Nicole Kidman the hardest working person in Hollywood right now?

In the last year or so, Nicole Kidman starred in A Family Affair and Babygirl. On television, she starred in Expats and The Perfect Couple and returns for the second season of Taylor Sheridan's Lioness, premiering October 27 on Paramount+.

She will also appear in Season 2 of the Hulu series “Nine Perfect Strangers,” the animated film “Spellbound,” and the thriller “Holland, Michigan.” She also plays the title role in “Scarpetta,” Amazon’s upcoming series adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s mystery books, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Ariana DeBose. She hopes to launch a third season of “Big Little Lies” as well as a sequel to “Practical Magic.”

Still, Kidman says she actually finds time to sleep. “I slept nine hours last night,” she told me at the season two premiere of Lioness in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

She admits that she is thinking about taking a break from work. “I do, but in this weird way there are so many opportunities to be of service to the people who come and what I have and can do for people like ('Babygirl' writer-director). to use. Helena (Reijn). It's very hard for me to say, 'Okay, I'm just going to take care of myself,' because it's so important to me to take care of other people,” says Kidman, who returns to “Lioness” as Kaitlyn Meade. “I think, 'I can create more work for people.' “I can create jobs for people.” And besides, I love it. I have the passion. I just have to take care of my body. I wish I had superpowers because I would like to be everywhere.”

She adds: “I've dreamed of this since I was a little girl. I love what I do, so I just do my best and then I don't go out anymore. I'm going home to be with my family. We do things together. I don’t go to nightclubs.”

“Scarpetta” will be Kidman and Curtis’ first collaboration. Kidman says of her co-star: “Talk about someone who took the right path and owned up to where she was at a certain point in her life, and she so deserved that.”

Previously, Kidman's Lioness co-stars gushed about working with her.

“She’s so nice,” said Jill Wagner, who plays Bobby. “I was visited on set by a friend whose mother almost died of cancer, and Nicole said, 'Hey, let me do a little video for Mama Sandy.' She did this out of the goodness of her heart. I didn't ask her to do this. These are the little things that people definitely don't know about her. But she is unique.”

Zoe Saldaña, who stars as Joe on the series, remembers her first day on set with Kidman. “I say, 'Act cool.' Don't be a jerk. Don't forget your lines. Don't fan out.' But then I forget everything and we compare our experiences with our children and ask for advice on things like restaurants.”
