The November international break threatens to hamper the return to form of Inter Milan and Argentina's superstars

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez was far from his dream form at the start of the 2024/25 Serie A season.

According to Tuttosport and FCInterNews, there is a risk that El Toro will continue his “poor” form until mid-December.

With the international break approaching in November, Martinez's hopes of defeating a red-hot star face another obstacle.

In fact, that's the last thing the 27-year-old needs to get back into shape.

Martinez drew a blank as Inter and Juventus shared the spoils in a remarkable 4-4 draw on Sunday.

Worryingly, it was his sixth goalless appearance in Serie A this season, a testament to his disappointing decline.

The former Racing Club's form at the start of Inter's Scudetto defense is a far cry from his stellar performances last season.

He scored 24 league goals en route to winning his first Capocannoniere award.

After finishing seventh in the Ballon d'Or race, Martinez returns to his club duties on Wednesday.

In fact, Inter head to the Stadio Carlo Castellani to take on perennial favorites Empoli in a must-win clash.

This could be a showcase opportunity for the Argentine center forward to regain his confidence.

However, there is a possibility that he could move to the bench.

Simone Inzaghi is reportedly considering joining Mehdi Taremi and Marcus Thuram at the helm in Tuscany.

Leaving his captain on the bench could be counterproductive as Martinez hopes to return to form.

But Inter will play three more games before the next international break.

In addition to duels in Serie A against Venezia and Napoli, there is also a duel with Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.

This game could be Martinez's chance to shine after failing to score in two of his first three continental appearances.
