John Krasinski returns as the lead in the Jack Ryan film

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan The adventure series that proved to be a hit for Amazon MGM is coming to theaters.

The company is developing a feature film that will see the series' top star, John Krasinski, return to the title role of the intrepid CIA analyst. Wendell Pierce (The wire) will also return, while Michael Kelly (House of cards) is in negotiations to return as well.

Andrew Bernstein, who served as an executive producer and director on the show's second season, will direct the feature film, written by Aaron Rabin, who served as a co-executive producer and writer on the fourth season.

Jack Ryan was based on the characters and the so-called “Ryanverse” created by author Clancy, but set in modern times. The series ran for four seasons on Amazon Prime Video and is one of the three most-watched series worldwide.

The feature is produced by Krasinski and Allyson Seeger via their Sunday Night banner. Andrew Form also produces.

Ryan is produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Skydance's David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will serve as executive producers alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.

Bernstein, one of Netflix's main directors Ozarkmost recently directed several episodes of Welcome to Derry for HBO and worked on the first season of The diplomat for Netflix. He is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment Partners and McKuin Frankel.

Rabin recently worked on it Nobody 2the action thriller starring Bob Odenkirk, which is currently in post-production at Universal. His spec Towers landed on the 2020 Blacklist. He is represented by CAA and Untitled.

Krasinski, who is also an accomplished filmmaker, recently wrote, produced and directed the family fantasy IFin which he starred alongside Ryan Reynolds. He and his banner also produced something A Quiet Place: Day Onean expansion of its acclaimed creature feature franchise. Krasinski is repped by WME and Schreck Rose.

Pierce is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Frankfurt Kurnit, while Kelly is repped by WME, Liebman Entertainment and Schreck Rose.
