'Jack Ryan' Movie Starring John Krasinski in the Works at Amazon; Vets Eyed series

Apparently, Amazon MGM Studios and John Krasinski aren't ready to say goodbye to the Jack Ryan character just yet, as the studio is developing a new feature film starring Krasinski as the next stage in the franchise's evolution. Wendell Pierce, who starred alongside Krasinski in the 2018-23 TV series, will also star, and Michael Kelly is in negotiations to reprise his lead role.

Andrew Bernstein, who served as executive producer and director on Season 2 of the Prime Video series, is directing the film from a script by Aaron Rabin, who served as co-EP and writer on Season 4. Krasinski and Allyson Seeger are the producers on Sunday Night. Andrew Form also produces. The film will be produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance, whose executive producers will be David Ellison and Dana Goldberg alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.

The film will be an extension of the groundbreaking original series from Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television and Skydance Jack Ryan by Tom Clancyin which Krasinski played Clancy's iconic character. Following the release of the final two episodes of the series' fourth and final season, Jack Ryan by Tom Clancy According to Nielsen, an impressive 1.15 billion minutes were watched. The series will air in four seasons and is one of Prime Video's three most-watched series worldwide.

Most recently published was John Krasinski IF for Paramount Pictures, in which he starred, wrote, produced and directed. The film opened at number 1 and also stars Ryan Reynolds and Matt Damon. Krasinski previously co-wrote and starred in the Oscar-nominated Paramount film A quiet place. The premiere received rave reviews and was named one of AFI's 10 Best Films of the Year and the National Board of Review's Best Films of 2018.

After the success of A quiet placeKrasinski released his follow-up hit, A Quiet Place: Part IIwhich he also wrote the screenplay and directed. He also produced A Quiet Place: Day Onedirected by Michel Sarnoski, the top horror film of 2024. Krasinski is repped by WME and Schreck Rose.

Pierce also stars in the hit CBS drama Elsbethbased on the character in The good woman And The good fight, and in Season 3 of Starz's Power Book III: Raising Kanan. He was recently cast in the upcoming film Superman Film for James Gunn. In 2022, Pierce returned to Broadway for a limited engagement to reprise his portrayal of Willy Loman in Death of a traveling salesman after receiving an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play in London for the West End production. Kelly is best known for his four-time Emmy-nominated role as Doug Stamper in the Netflix series house of cards, in which he played the lead role in all six seasons. Kelly stars alongside Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana in Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ series Special Unit: Lioness and in the HBO Max series The penguin alongside Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti. He is repped by WME, Liebman Entertainment and Schreck Rose.

Most recently, Bernstein directed several episodes Welcome to Derry, with Andy and Barbara Muschietti as producers for HBO and the first season of The diplomat for Netflix. He previously had an overall deal with HBO, where he served as executive producer and director The Nevers. Bernstein is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment Partners and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.

Rabin's specification Towers was blacklisted, with Andrew Mittman producing via his 1.21 banner. He also recently rewrote Nobody 2 in production for Universal, where he is currently writing another feature film. Rabin is repped by Untitled, CAA and Gendler Kelly.
