Molly Park was the sassy host of a true crime podcast called “Merry F**k**g Kill” and she rocked up to Iron Lake to offer her investigative skills to Chief Angela Bishop. She looked locally for inspiration for an episode centered around the disappearance of Matt Caldwell, who was killed by Dexter Morgan. Little did she know that she was entering a city that was home to not one, but two serial killers. Harrison Morgan listens to Molly's podcast and comes across an episode based on The Trinity Killer, who killed his mother Rita Bennett. It was also revealed that she covered the Bay Harbor Butcher case and the Ice Truck Killer, among other real-life true crime cases.

If only Kurt Caldwell hadn't killed Molly, she could have had a very interesting role in the upcoming sequel. Dexter: Resurrection. Her knowledge of Dexter's crimes would have made her an important resource in the Miami Metro Homicide investigation. However, the Dexter-verse doesn't mind bringing back deceased characters, whether as Dexter's Ghost or through flashbacks. In Molly's case, she could be brought back through her podcast appearances, and it would be a good way to still showcase the popular character from the afterlife. Even if it's just a quick Easter egg for fans, it would be fun to see the quirky crime fighter again.

Paramount+ is looking to drum up interest in the Dexter-verse with the upcoming release of Dexter: Original Sin in December 2024, followed by the sequel series directed by Michael C. Hall, Dexter: Resurrectionin summer 2025. They have called on former cast members to take part in their YouTube companion series. Dexter's Killing Roomto watch old episodes of the original series with special guests. So far it has been Erik King, who played James Doakes, and CS Lee, who played fan favorite Vince Masuka, appearing in three episodes each. Jamie Chung is clearly still on the minds of the creative team behind it Dexter: Resurrectionand their appearance Dexter's Killing Room also brings them back into the hearts and minds of fans, before the new series.
