Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you have a spooky, candy-filled day full of costumes and merriment! We won't bother with too much introduction. I'm sure everyone is excited about the celebrations. Let's solve today's NYT Mini Crossword Puzzle!

Spoilers ahead, of course. Skip ahead to see the picture of today's solved puzzle.

ABOVE

1 – Hybrid horse with stripes – ZORSE

6 – “Fingers crossed!” – I HOPE

6 – Record company – LABEL

7 – Shoe that can be decorated with parts called Jibbitz – CROC

8 – Many ___ wear (versatile at work) – HATS

DOWN

1 – Zippo, nada, nothing – ZILCH

2 – Katharina from “Beetlejuice” – OHARA

3 – Halloween costume with cardboard and aluminum foil – ROBOT

4 – Technical product details – TECHNICAL DATA

5 – Sushi fish served cooked – eel

I started this crossword puzzle and then stopped it when I got distracted by other tasks. So I'm honestly not sure how long it took, but I know 1 Across threw me off for a while. I typed ZEBRA but it was ZORSE and I thought I was right at first because 1 down was ZILCH. It worked! Only, that wasn't the case. Nothing else worked and I had to go back to the drawing board. However, once I got ZORSE, things fell back into place and the rest was pretty easy.
