UFC 310 reportedly suffers another blow, losing the headlining title fight

The UFC's final PPV of the year reportedly needs a new main event.

UFC 310 takes place on December 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and is expected to feature two major title fights as well as some crucial fights between top contenders such as Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling and Ciryl Gane vs…. Alexander Volkov.

The card already suffered a setback recently when Tatiana Suarez was forced to withdraw from what looked like a strawweight title eliminator against Virna Jandiroba, and now Al Zullino is reporting that UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has also pulled out of his Main title defense against Shavkat Rakhmonov.

“Remember the Name” is currently on a tremendous undefeated streak that dates back to 2019, and at UFC 304, Muhammad finally received his long-awaited shot at the UFC welterweight title, taking the belt from Leon Edwards via unanimous decision .

The news of Muhammad's withdrawal puts the undefeated Rakhmonov in a difficult situation, but with another title fight between Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura currently scheduled as the UFC 310 co-main event, the promotion could potentially find a suitable replacement for “Nomad.” to fight in either a non-title fight or an interim title fight.

The loss of Muhammad is certainly a blow to what turned out to be the UFC's final PPV of the year, and it remains to be seen whether Rakhmonov will commit to fighting a replacement opponent to keep the UFC 310 lead somewhat intact last until December 7th.
