When will the Texans WR return to the field?

When will the Texans WR return to the field?

The Houston Texans' wide receiver room is starting to get lonely after Stefon Diggs is out for the year with a torn ACL, but help is on the way.

Nico Collins, the NFL's leading receiver until early October, is nearing his return from a hamstring injury that has kept him on the injured list since October 9th.

Unfortunately, this means he will not be available for the Week 9 game against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football. Houston won't be able to activate Collins from IR until Week 10 at the earliest, and the latest reports suggest he'll certainly be ready to play.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, an NBC affiliate in Houston, Collins hasn't dealt with any setbacks:

According to league sources, Collins has reached speeds of 20 mph in practice since the injury and quickly regained his flexibility, strength and mobility after he was injured during a touchdown pass against the Buffalo Bills and was placed on injured reserve.

So no Nico in Week 9, but get ready for a much-needed return against the Detroit Lions in Week 10 if nothing changes.
