Keke Palmer talks about her relationship with Darius Jackson

Keke Palmer breaks her silence about how things “got so out of control” during her relationship with Darius Jackson.

“It was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through,” the 31-year-old actress wrote in her upcoming memoir, “Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative,” according to People magazine.

Palmer noted in her book that “having a baby” was “a major stressor” on her relationship with the fitness trainer, adding: “It has always become a strain not only in my romantic relationships, but also with family and friends. “There are too many voices coming in. This can lead to everyone else not trusting you. It’s hard to explain,” excerpts from People read.

Palmer's relationship woes made internet headlines in July 2023 after Jackson publicly shamed the “Nope” star for wearing a sheer dress to an Usher concert.

In a tweet, Jackson criticized Palmer for “flaunting her buttocks to please others” and complained that she was viewed as a “hater” for expressing his opinion about his then-girlfriend's clothing.

“It's the outfit even though you're a mother,” he wrote at the time in a separate, now-deleted tweet in response to a video of Palmer being serenaded by the singer.

The incident came just months after the couple welcomed their first child together, son Leodis, in February 2023. The former couple had been together since 2021.

Their relationship problems escalated in November 2023 when the former star of the sitcom “True Jackson, VP” filed a restraining order against her boyfriend and requested sole custody of Leodis.

In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Palmer accused Jackson of domestic violence and cited “many instances of physical violence” during their two-year relationship.

“It got so out of control,” Palmer told People. “The only way I could bring order was through the courts.”

Although she struggled with stress in her relationship with Jackson, she said in her book, “I wish I could say that he was terrible all the time or that it was me,” according to excerpts published by People became. The book will be published on November 19th.

“But it wasn't so black and white and that was the problem,” she added, according to People. “I didn’t want my son to think his dad was a monster, because I don’t.”

In her new interview with People, the “We Are” singer recalled the beginnings of their relationship.

“When we met and fell in love, it was like, 'Now is the time.' This is not only the person, but also the right time. It was a conscious decision. We were planning on (having Leodis).”
