Thousands of Oklahoma voters have registered for in-person early voting for the November 2024 election.

On the ballot this year is not only the next US president, but also a controversial vote on retaining the judiciary and four of five districts in the US House of Representatives.

Here's what we know about early voting totals so far.

How many people have voted in Oklahoma so far?

In-person early voting began on Wednesday, October 30th and continues through Saturday, November 2nd.

In the first two days, more than 158,000 Oklahomans statewide came to cast their votes. That is already more than the number of voters (152,126) who participated in early voting in November 2016 and almost as many as in November 2020 (167,185) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, 80,000 Oklahomans voted, and on Thursday more than 76,000 voted.

However, there were only three days of in-person early voting in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. It wasn't until 2022 that Oklahoma implemented a fourth day of early voting ahead of the general election.

Between the first two days, more than 100,000 of the early voters were Republicans and nearly 40,000 were Democrats. Additionally, 731 Libertarians and more than 16,000 Independents participated in early voting.

In addition, more than 130,000 mail-in ballots had been sent out by county election offices as of Friday. Of these, 91,560 were returned.

When can we see the early voting results in Oklahoma?

While ballots are cast days before the actual election, whether through in-person early voting or absentee voting, the results cannot be announced to the public until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Once counting begins, those results will appear on oklahoma.gov/elections, sorted by absentee, early or Election Day ballots.
