Team 151 is on the road again, this time heading to the Big Apple to take on Columbia for another important Ivy appearance. The Bulldogs are coming off a win over Penn last Friday night and will look to carry momentum into Week 7. Friday's game under the lights will be broadcast live on ESPNU from Vienna Stadium.

What you need to know

  • Yale defeated Penn 31-10 on Oct. 25 in a game in which the Bulldogs limited the Quakers to just one touchdown and one field goal, both made in the second quarter.
  • Abu Kamara is the reigning Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week. He had seven total tackles (five solo and two assists), including one tackle for a loss at Penn.
  • It was his second straight game with a forced fumble, as well as his first interception and quarterback hurry of the season.
  • Kamara leads the FCS in solo tackles per game with 7.2. UAlbany's Dontae Lunan ranks second with 6.4 solo tackles per game.
  • Kamara is tied for first in the Ivy in total tackles (51), first in solo tackles (43) and second in the Ivy in tackles per game (8.6).
  • Yale ranked 11th in the FCS in fourth down conversions (.700) and is 23rd in red zone offense (.885). They are also 27th in third down conversions (.437).
  • Joey Felton has received touchdowns on a total of five receptions in three straight games.
  • David Pantelis' 123 receiving yards against Penn were a career high. His previous career high came on October 12 against Dartmouth when he had 117.
  • Grant Jordan is third in the Ivy in touchdowns (11) behind Harvard's Jaden Craig (17) and Cornell's Jameson Wang (14). He has the second-longest throw of the season (71 yards) behind Brown's Jake Wilcox (87).
  • Jordan's 80% completion rate (24-30) last week against Penn is an Ivy League season high.
  • Tony Reno, the Bulldogs' Joel E. Smilow '54 head coach, in his 12th season at the helm, earned his 71st win at Yale against Penn, moving Jack Siedlecki (71) into second place in program history for wins of a trainer.
  • Yale's game Friday at Columbia concludes its two-game road series against Ivy opponents. The Bulldogs return home for two conference games against Brown (November 9) and Princeton (November 16) before ending their season on the road against the team from Cambridge (November 23).

  • Yale has won eight of the last 10 meetings against Columbia – including the last four in a row.
  • In the 2023 season, the Bulldogs defeated the Lions 35-7 in the Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field. The Bulldogs held Columbia to fewer than 200 yards of total offense (194).
  • The last time the Bulldogs and Lions competed in New York City was under the lights on October 28, 2022, on a Friday night. Yale won that meeting 41-16 at quarterback Nolan Grooms threw for a career-high 346 yards and four touchdowns.
