PANARIN'S POINTS

Artemi Panarin has 15 points (6G-9A) this year and points in eight of his nine games this season. He joins Nathan MacKinnon (13 GP in the 2019-20 season and 9 GP in the 2018-19 season) as the second active player to record a season-opening points streak of at least eight games in consecutive seasons (also 15 GP in the 2023 season –24).

Panarin is tied for ninth in the NHL in points (15).
Panarin's 38 multi-point games since the start of last season are the fifth-most in the NHL.

Has the second-most assists (525) and fifth-most points in the NHL (796) among NHL skaters since 2015-16.

Additionally, Panarin's 56 three-point games since joining the Rangers in the 2019-20 season are the third-most of any player in that span. Connor McDavid (83) and Leon Draisaitl (66) take first and second place.

LIFE, LAF, LOVE

Alexis Lafreniere agreed to a seven-year contract extension on October 25.

He has recorded points (4G-4A) in seven of his nine games to start the season. His five-game points streak to start the season tied him with Tomas Sandstrom (5 GP 1986-87) and Mike McEwen (5 GP 1978-79) for the second-longest season-opening points streak by a Rangers player aged 23 or younger .

Among Rangers skaters this season, Lafrenière ranks first in even-strength goals (4), second in even-strength points (8), third in goals and second in points.

On October 12 against Utah, Lafreniere played his 300th career NHL game.

Since his rookie season in 2020-21, he has the fifth-most points on the Blueshirts (156) and ranks third on the Rangers in even strength goals (74) and even strength points (144) over the same period.

Last year, Lafreniere had a career-high goals (28), assists (29) and points (57) during the 2022-23 season and was one of five New York players to appear in all 82 games. On the Rangers, he ranked second in even-strength goals (26) and third in even-strength points (51).

PUCK STOPS SHESTERKIN

Igor Shesterkin has four wins in the young season, so three out of four wins resulted in one or fewer goals.

Since the start of last season, the 21 games in which Shesterkin has allowed one or fewer goals ranks first among NHL goaltenders.

Since the 2021/22 season, Shesterkin has been one of the best in the NHL.

FANTASTIC LORD. FOX

Adam Fox has eight assists in his last eight games, including two three-assist games.

Since 2019-20, Fox ranks second in the NHL in assists (263) and fifth in points (316). During that span, he has played 75 multi-point games, ranking fourth among NHL defensemen.

Last season, Fox scored a career-high 17 goals and recorded 56 assists and 73 points last season. He scored the most goals by a Rangers defender since Brian Leetch in the 2000/2001 season (21). Among NHL blueliners, he was tied for sixth in goals, sixth in points and eighth in assists.

KREIDING IN THE HISTORY BOOKS

Chris Kreider has scored six goals in his first nine games of his 13th season, including his 46th game-winning goal of his career, which tied Jean Ratelle for the second-most goals in franchise history.

Kreider has scored 112 power play goals in his career, the second most in franchise history.

Since 2021-22, Kreider's 10 shorthanded goals are the most in the NHL (Travis Konecny, Adrian Kempe) and his 54 power play goals rank third.

FORECHECK, BACKCHECK, TROCHECK

Vincent Trocheck has eight points (2G-6A) through the first nine games of the season, including his fourth four-point game of his career on Oct. 17 at Detroit. Among skaters with 160 or more faceoffs, Trocheck ranks sixth in faceoff percentage (55.8).

Trocheck is just one goal away from hitting 200 for his career.

In the 2023-24 season, Trocheck recorded career highs in assists (52) and points (77). In New York, he finished fifth in goals, third in assists and second in points. With a 58.7 percent faceoff clip, Trocheck had the fourth-highest draw percentage in the NHL among players who made 700 or more draws.

Trocheck was named last year's winner of the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award, given annually to the Ranger who, as voted by fans, “goes above and beyond the call of duty.”

MIKA'S MISSION

Mika Zibanejad is in his ninth season with the Rangers after being signed prior to the 2016-17 season. During that span, Zibanejad ranks fifth in the NHL with 101 power play goals, which is also the fifth-most goals in Rangers history.

On October 19 in Toronto, Zibanejad became the 13th player in Rangers history to record 300 assists for the team. He has seven points in his last seven games (2G-5A).
