According to Argentine media, Liam Payne's fall to his death was caught on CCTV

According to Argentine media, former One Direction singer Liam Payne's fatal fall from a balcony in Buenos Aires was caught on CCTV.

The footage, which has not been released to the public, reportedly shows the singer's fall after he “passed out” on the third floor balcony.

Paula Varela, an Argentine broadcast journalist, revealed on Socios del Espectaculo, a program on Buenos Aires-based TV channel Canal 13, that the footage shows Liam losing consciousness before falling from the balcony.

“There is footage that is not released to the media, with the balcony scene where you see Liam fainting and tragically falling off the balcony because of his position. “If he had been lying next to his bed, he would have been on his bed “I liked it,” said Varela.

“It's not like he jumped on purpose. This footage is in the official case files.”

Investigations against potential drug suppliers

Varela also reported that a night worker at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel who had “a good relationship” with Payne was the focus of an ongoing investigation into who supplied the singer with the drugs that are believed to have contributed to his death on October 16.

“A boy is being investigated because he worked at the hotel at night. He is 20 and has developed an excellent relationship with Liam. “He comes from Lomas de Zamora, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, but we will not mention his name,” Varela said.

“He did not follow an order from the hotel management. What order did he disobey? Nothing should be taken into Liam's room. Because of the good relationship he had with Liam, he ordered a car through one of those taxi apps we all use because Liam wanted something. He did him this favor, a huge mistake because he is under investigation and they see what was transmitted in that vehicle. That's one of the things investigators are currently looking into, and apparently that hotel employee has been suspended. He is a valued employee, a good worker, but he disobeyed an order that could have been fatal.”

Toxicology report and police findings

A toxicology report prepared as part of the autopsy found traces of pink cocaine – a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA – in his body, as well as cocaine and benzodiazepines.

Police also found an improvised aluminum pipe used to smoke crack cocaine in his suite.

The 31-year-old English pop star died instantly, according to an autopsy, suffering multiple injuries when he fell almost 14 meters from the balcony to the concrete footpath below.

Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, confirmed that Payne fell into a courtyard.

“A few minutes later, an emergency team arrived and confirmed the death of this man, who we later learned was part of a music group. He suffered injuries that were incompatible with life as a result of his fall,” he said.
