After several months of delays due to the writers' strike and the actors' strike, the fifth season of the successful Netflix series is starting Stranger Things (which is also the show's final season) finally went into production earlier this year and is now in the middle of its 12-month filming schedule… and during an appearance at Happy, sad, confused In celebration of the podcast's 10th anniversary, cast member David Harbor said the series finale will be worth the wait because it's the best episode they've ever done.

Stranger Things has the following summary: A love letter to the classic genre films of the 80s that captivated an entire generation. Stranger Things is a suspenseful drama set in the seemingly normal Midwestern town of Hawkins, Indiana. After a boy disappears into thin air, his close-knit group of friends and family search for answers and are drawn into a risky and deadly series of events. Beneath the surface of their ordinary town lurks an extraordinary supernatural mystery, top-secret government experiments and a dangerous gate that connects our world to a powerful but sinister empire. Friendships are tested and lives are changed because what they discover will change Hawkins and possibly the world – forever.

Harbor said Happy, sad, confused Host Josh Horowitz and people in the audience that he has a very strong opinion about the show that may not agree with a fan's opinion. Because he works on the show and sees “the be-all and end-all,” he gets very upset if he thinks an episode is bad or if there's a season he didn't like. He said (with thanks to People for the transcription): “I can be very critical of this show,” but with the series finale, “They land the plane and it's the best episode they've ever done. At the end of that episode, when we were reading it – just ourselves – about halfway through, people started crying. Then, in the last 20 minutes or so, it was just uncontrollable crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp is my favorite. I think part of it is also because these kids had their childhood. They started the show when they were 11 and 12 years old and here we are reading (the finale). It's 10 years later and we're looking at this idea and it's so well done and so beautiful. It's such a great episode and it's such a great season. You'll love it.
