Andrew Garfield talks about returning as Spider-Man after “No Way Home.”

Andrew Garfield gives a positive update on a possible return as his version of Spider-Man after his appearance in the MCUSpider-Man: No Way Home. It's been almost three years since Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures brought not one, but three live-action versions of Spider-Man to the big screen. Following the end of Spider-Man: No Way HomeThe Phase 4 installment is still the most profitable MCU film in the entire Multiverse saga, and the world is still hoping that Tom Holland will team up again with Garfield and Tobey Maguire's iterations of the web crawler.




In a new one esquire In the profile, Garfield looked back on his time as part of the Spider-Man: No Way Home pour in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was cancelled. When asked if he would ever consider coming back as his version of Spider-Man in a future Marvel project, he replied: Garfield emphasized that he always kept the door open for that long “It was the right thing to do.” He said:

It was really healing for me. I would definitely 100 percent come back if it was the right thing, if it contributed to the culture, if there was a great concept or something that had never been done before that was unique and strange and exciting and where you can sink your teeth into it. I love this character and he is a joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I am happy in return.



Although Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 3 may never come to fruition, The actor's positivity about continuing to play Spider-Man bodes well for people who want to see him again in the future. It's clear that Garfield enjoyed playing Spider-Man in a Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures joint production that combines the best of both worlds. If this continues to be the scenario in which he is offered to appear in future episodes, it's hard to imagine not seeing Garfield as a web-slinger again.


Regarding theories about Garfield's possible return to the MCU timeline: Many believe that his version of Spider-Man may be part of it Avengers: End of the World and/or Avengers: Secret Wars. That would be the most logical place for Garfield to appear, especially since the films mark the end of The Multiverse Saga. This would also be a way for Garfield's version of Spider-Man to meet many other Marvel characters both within and outside of the MCU.

Given the how Avengers: Secret Wars A soft reboot of the MCU is rumored to be planned, likely merging various timelines. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures may approach Garfield to be part of the final stages of Phase 6 if they haven't already. After his unforgettable press tour for Spider-Man: No Way HomeGarfield's recent comments could simply be him once again pretending not to know what's next for his Spider-Man, even though he may already be tied to something for the MCU. But until then, the world will have to wait and see if and when it gets to see Garfield's Spider-Man back on the big screen.
