Andy's Player Ratings: Sunderland 2-2 Leeds United – Last minute Meslier howler gives us a point

Anthony Patterson: 6/10

Didn't have much of a chance on either goal and didn't have to make a significant save, tried to catch a high ball under pressure that he should have hit, but had a stable game.

Trai Hume: 6/10

Had a good game for the most part, did well against a difficult winger, but got way out of position for the second goal and then completely missed a tackle just outside the box. Came forward well and hit a cross into the box, had a good chance to shoot on the edge of the box, but his shot was wild.

Chris Mepham: 7/10

He lost his man on the visitors' first goal, even though it was a good cross and a slight offside, but he defended well throughout and mopped up the deficit well.

Luke O'Nien: 7/10

He used the ball well at the back and made some important defensive contributions, including a well-timed block early in the game.

Dennis Cirkin: 8/10

Great game as a full-back, defended well and provided a lot of forward momentum. His attempt led to Riggs' goal and then delivered a good cross that Isidor narrowly avoided.

Dan Neil (C): 7/10

Was in an unusual position in the first half as he slotted into a back three without possession, but also did well in his usual role just in front of the back four. A good cross for Isidor, but the striker could only direct his header over the goal.

Jobe Bellingham: 8/10

A good game in the middle of the field, he used the ball well and found some great positions, but the only real downside was that he forgot his shooting shoes. Technically he received an assist after his header hit Browne.

Patrick Roberts: 7/10

A game with ups and downs, he didn't always make the right choices and had a phase in the first half where he gave the ball away too easily, but Leeds always caused problems when he stormed towards them, was in the first half from the game goal and played some good balls around the penalty area.

Chris Rigg: 7/10

In the right place at the right time to make it 1-0 early on and had some good moments throughout, both going forward and defensively. He also gave the ball away cheaply on a couple of occasions, one of which resulted in a yellow card after he turned into Gnoto and then had to bring him down.

Romaine Mundle: 7/10

The combative performance on the left wing didn't always make the right decisions, but continued throughout the entire 90 minutes. Had a chance but couldn't make the most of it and Meslier had an easy catch.

Wilson Isidore: 6/10

There was a lot of ground covered from above, with very little to work with. Headed a shot well over the goal, narrowly missed a cross from Cirkin and was there at the end to see the equalizer fall, but perhaps deserves an assist for pushing a defender into the goalkeeper early in the half and giving him one inflicted concussion.

Substitute

Alan Browne: 6/10

Somehow the equalizer came with pretty much the last shot of the game.

Tommy Watson: 6/10

He didn't have many chances to attack his man, but managed an important free kick shortly after the equalizer.

Man of the match: Dennis Cirkin

Looked a bit tired against Derby but was at his best today, was very good defensively and was able to make a great block to prevent the score being 3-1, but he was also excellent going forward. Had an attempt saved before Riggs' goal, almost put Isidor in his place with a great cross and when we were under pressure we ran across the pitch several times.
