It's not news from Liverpool, but we were all afraid this day would come, weren't we?!

After hanging on to his job over the summer, Man United now dealt Ten Hag the death knell with a 2-1 defeat at West Ham on Sunday.

This leaves Liverpool's rivals in 14th place in the Premier League table – hilarious! – with just four wins from 14 games in all competitions this season.

A successor to Ten Hag is now being sought, with Ruud van Nistelrooy taking interim responsibility for the time being. Gareth Southgate would be a pretty fun choice!

It's bizarre that we actually only beat Ten Hag's United twice in six games.

Liverpool FC: On this day

On this day in 2007Steven Gerrard played his 400th Liverpool game when he played at home against Arsenal in the Premier League.

In typical Stevie style, he scored the opening goal from a free kick in the 200th meeting between the Reds and the Gunners.

However, Rafa Benitez's side ultimately had to settle for a share of the spoils as Cesc Fabregas equalized in the second half.

This was Gerrard at the peak of his powers – what Slot wouldn't give to have him in his squad now!
