Baltimore Ravens trade Rams for former first-round CB

Baltimore Ravens trade Rams for former first-round CB

The Baltimore Ravens acquired wide receiver Diontae Johnson last week to improve their offense and were hoping to make another trade on the defensive side of the football.

Now they have managed to do exactly that.

According to a report from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Ravens have acquired cornerback Tre'Davious White from the Los Angeles Rams.

Pelissero also reported that Baltimore tried to acquire Marshon Lattimore, but when he was traded elsewhere, they turned around and were able to acquire White.

Along with White, a 2027 seventh-round pick was acquired in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.

During his time with the Buffalo Bills, White was a star cornerback. He had injury problems and is now back to good health.

So far this season, White has played in four games with the Rams, recording 12 tackles and two passes defended. The 29-year-old defensive back was unable to carve out a consistent role for himself in Los Angeles.

These are the plays that Super Bowl contenders can use to win big. Should White be able to recover and play at the level he is capable of, he could be the move that completely rounds out the Ravens' defense.

Once again, Baltimore's front office has made it clear that they are fully committed to the 2024 NFL season. The Ravens were already a Super Bowl favorite, but the moves to acquire Johnson and White were just what the doctor ordered.

It will be interesting to see how White fits into Baltimore's defense. He has great talent, but must be able to consistently perform at a high level. We'll just have to wait and see if he can do it.
