Nearly 20,000 users reported Bank of America outages Tuesday, affecting online and mobile banking and ATM services

“There's some sort of glitch on the Bank of America website that's showing $0 on all accounts, and honestly I think they owe everyone some money for pain and suffering because that was extremely stressful there for a second “wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter.

According to Downdetector, the outage is widespread across the US, affecting the following major cities: New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

About 50 percent of problem reports cited problems with online banking, 41 percent cited mobile banking and only one percent of users reported problems with ATMs.

“Five accounts have a zero balance of over 20,000,” a Bank of America customer shared on Downdetector.

Bank of America has not yet stated what caused the outage, when services will be restored, or whether this incident put users' money at risk.

The silence sparked outrage among customers, with one woman sharing on – Balance, but my credit card is shown. has the right balance!!!'
