Barcelona vs Espanyol player ratings: Dani Olmo scores twice and Lamine Yamal excels again as La Liga leaders enjoy derby fun

Two clean finishes from the summer newcomer led the Blaugrana to victory, and Raphinha also got on the scoresheet again

An outstanding attacking performance in the first half was enough to give Barcelona all three points in the derby duel against Espanyol. Goals from Dani Olmo either side of a Raphinha chip put the league leaders out of sight of their rivals, who were torn apart as Sunday's game resulted in a 3-1 win for Hansi Flick's side.

Barca were untouchable in the early stages and it only took 12 minutes for their magic to show. Lamine Yamal ripped open the Espanyol defense with the outside of his boot and found Olmo, whose first-time shot flashed past Joan Garcia to give the hosts the lead.

Eleven minutes later, Marc Casado threw a pass over the Espanyol defense and found the onrushing Raphinha, who was brave to get Garcia to the ball and lift it over the stricken goalkeeper. Olmo then added his second and Barcelona's third, trying from distance to take the three points.

Espanyol had the ball in the Barcelona goal four times as balls behind the defense posed a constant threat. Barcelona's defenders twice found the visitors just millimeters offside, but they were taught their lesson on the third occasion when Javi Puado scored.
