One of the most difficult tasks of the entire season awaits Union Berlin on the 9th Bundesliga matchday: they are guests of record champions Bayern Munich. The Köpenickers are still bothered by the cup debacle from midweek.

After a strong start to the season, 1. FC Union Berlin suffered its first major setback last Wednesday. In the DFB Cup, the Bundesliga team played against third division team Arminia Bielefeld, lost 2-0 and was eliminated from the competition in the second round.

Union Berlin will have to recover after the Bielefeld Cup embarrassment – and now has to compete against FC Bayern of all teams. Coach Bo Svensson is hoping for a “top day” against the record champions. By Shea Westhoffmore

We actually have to get over this first, but now, of all times, coach Bo Svensson's team has to travel to become the record champions. FC Bayern Munich is still unbeaten in the current Bundesliga season and has only weakened against the bigger teams so far. Before the party it was also clear to the Union coach: “You need a game that fits. You need luck in a few scenes. You need to have a top day yourself.”
