Best College Football Prop Bets for LSU vs. Texas A&M in Week 9 (Target: Mason Taylor)

Best College Football Prop Bets for LSU vs. Texas A&M in Week 9 (Target: Mason Taylor)

Arguably the biggest game Saturday night will be LSU's game against Texas A&M in College Station with a chance to establish itself as a College Football Playoff contender.

Both teams have been leading the table since defeats in the first week, but this will be the toughest competition for each group. With this in mind, who can we trust in the player props market? Be sure to catch players like Conner Weigman, Caden Durham and Mason Taylor in this Week 9 showdown.

Conner Weigman for 203.5 yards

Weigman had a shaky performance against Mississippi State, throwing two interceptions, but surpassed that mark in a double-digit win.

With more pressure against a tough opponent, I expect Texas A&M to produce average pitch speed and the Aggies to be able to move the ball through the air. While LSU's defense appears to be improving as the season progresses, I believe the secondary remains vulnerable, ranking 84th in coverage rating according to Pro Football Focus.

While it may not be as strong as Texas A&M's dominant 41-10 performance, a good performance is well above that number. The Aggies quarterback passed for a career-high 276 yards in this game.

Caden Durham OVER 56.5 rushing yards

Durham has taken the lead in this LSU offense. As the team throws the ball in the top 10, the freshman adds another dimension to this team and a major game-playing threat out of the backfield.

LSU's running game has been mediocre so far, but Durham had 21 carries for 101 yards in the win against Arkansas. He previously had 12 carries for 37 yards against a stout Ole Miss defense, but showed his big-play threat by leading an 86-yard run to South Alabama.

I think that with the necessary carries, Durham can crack one. Texas A&M ranks 132nd in explosive rush defense this season. So if he can score a big winner, he should have the reps to overcome that pedestrian mark.

Mason Taylor for 38.5 yards

Texas A&M is determined to apply pressure, and I expect LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier to look to his safety-valve tight end in Taylor with a strong defensive line.

Nussmeier has been sacked twice this season, he is fantastic at evading pressure, but against better defenses he will need to speed up his progress, which will likely lead to checkdowns for Taylor, who has exceeded that mark in all but one game this season has .

After a quiet game against Arkansas, three catches for 25 yards, the script of the game is important to note. The Tigers took an early lead and ran the ball at high speed. In a more neutral game script, I expect Taylor to get back into the over column.

The game odds are updated regularly and are subject to change.
