Brutal details are emerging about Jabrill Peppers' alleged attack on his girlfriend

Horrifying details have emerged about the Patriots' safety. Jabrill Peppers was shockingly arrested on Saturday on assault, strangulation and drug charges.

Peppers and his girlfriend had an argument in which he allegedly “hit her, choked her, took her clothes off and took her outside,” according to the police report recorded by wcvb.com.

The woman in question told officers that Peppers placed his hands on her neck, slammed her head against the wall and then threw her down the stairs, the report said.

Peppers' attorney, Mark Brofsky, disputed those allegations after his client was released on bail in Quincy District Court on Monday after pleading not guilty.

He said they had video footage “and other” evidence that “cast real doubt on the claim,” the report said.

“I repeat what I said in the courtroom: We have evidence that completely contradicts the alleged victim's story, and I expect my client to be fully exonerated,” Brofsky said outside the courtroom.

Police reportedly responded to a disturbance call at 4:15 a.m. Saturday involving 29-year-old Peppers and his girlfriend.

According to the wcvb.com report, officers discovered a clear baggie containing a white powder substance in his wallet and he told them “it was cocaine.”

Peppers told police he asked the woman to leave his apartment several times and denied that he touched her. Instead, he claimed she fell down the stairs drunk.

The police treated the woman on site.

“He denied pushing her down the stairs and said she made these allegations to destroy his career,” the police report said.

Peppers is charged with “assault, assault with a dangerous weapon, strangulation and possession of a Class B substance suspected to be cocaine,” according to ESPN.

The next hearing is scheduled for November 22, but Peppers was not expected to attend, according to media reports.

Both the Patriots and the NFL said in statements that they were aware of the situation, while first-year New England head coach Jerod Mayo did not say whether the Peppers' roster spot was at risk.

Mayo said security is allowed at the team facility for now, according to ESPN.

Peppers, in his third season with the Patriots, was downgraded from questionable to out on Saturday before Sunday's 15-10 home loss to the Dolphins.

The team signed him to a three-year contract extension worth $30 million this offseason.

“He called me that morning. I knew what was going on,” Mayo told sports radio WEEI on Monday. “We notified the NFL of what was going on and are still gathering information.

“I don’t think anyone knows the facts or anything like that. It’s a process.”
