Bundesliga, 7th matchday

Saturday conference in the live ticker

Bayer Leverkusen – Eintracht Frankfurt

TSG Hoffenheim – VfL Bochum

SC Freiburg – FC Augsburg

Mainz 05 – RB Leipzig

Borussia Monchengladbach – 1. FC Heidenheim

Bayer Leverkusen – Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: The champions are already six games undefeated after the defeat against Leipzig, but are in fifth place behind the competition and most recently did not get beyond a 2-2 draw against Kiel. Frankfurt has risen to third place and has been undefeated in seven competitive games.

Statistics: Leverkusen have won all of their last ten competitive games against Hessen in the BayArena, achieving a goal difference of 35:5. Bayer only won one of three home games this season.

Personal information: National player Wirtz returns to the squad after his ankle capsule injury. Boniface is also ready for the party after the problems with the journey with Nigeria's selection in Libya. At Eintracht, captain Trapp is about to return to goal after his thigh injury.

Special: Bayer goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky could be the first foreign goalkeeper to reach the mark of 300 games in the Bundesliga. The Finn played 101 games for Eintracht Frankfurt.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – VfL Bochum (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: Both Hoffenheim's coach Matarazzo and Bochum's coach Zeidler are under pressure after just six match days. TSG has taken four points so far, VfL is bottom of the table with one point.

Statistics: At least two goals were scored in all ten Bundesliga duels between Hoffenheim and Bochum. There have been at least four goals in each of the last four matches.

Personal: After his dispute with coach Matarazzo, TSG striker Berisha is back in training and could be an option for the squad. VfL will have to do without Bernardo and Bero, but attacker Boadu seems to be getting fit in time.

Special: Bochum's coach Zeidler was Ralf Rangnick's assistant coach at TSG Hoffenheim from January 2008 to January 2011. They celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga together in 2008.

SC Freiburg – FC Augsburg (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: Freiburg managed the transition from Streich to Schuster well and got off to a strong start under the new head coach. FCA is in the bottom third of the table and suffered two defeats in the first two away games of the season.

Statistics: Freiburg does not have a better home record against any other current Bundesliga club than against FCA. The sports club has won ten of the twelve previous duels in Breisgau, only losing 2-4 in February 2014.

Personally: The SC is still missing the long-term injured offensive talent Röhl. Striker Gregoritsch recently scored for the Austrian national team. FCA has to replace Vargas, Pedersen and probably also defender Schlotterbeck.

Special: Freiburg's Grifo is a real FCA specialist. In the last four duels with the Fuggerstadt team alone, he scored three goals and two assists.

FSV Mainz 05 – RB Leipzig (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: Mainz wants to establish itself in the middle of the league with its second win in the series. With a win, RB would take over the top of the table from Bayern, at least for a few hours.

Statistics: Mainz have won four of their last seven Bundesliga games against Leipzig, with two draws and only one defeat.

Personal: Mainz has to do without Kohr due to a yellow card suspension. Hanche-Olsen could move into the starting line-up for him. At RB Seiwald (muscular problems) and Raum (ankle surgery) are out.

Special: Rose's former club has a special place in his heart. “If I had anyone to fear, it would be my former club Mainz 05.”

Borussia Mönchengladbach – 1. FC Heidenheim (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: The recent 1:2 in Augsburg has significantly dampened the mood in Gladbach. A win is needed so that the discussions about coach Seoane don't get too big. With a win, Heidenheim could advance into the European Cup ranks.

Statistics: Last season both teams met three times. There was a draw and a Gladbach win in the league, and Borussia also prevailed in the second round of the DFB Cup.

Personally: At Heidenheim, the use of Wanner, who has recently been a bit ailing, is questionable. At Borussia, Honorat is expected back at least in the squad after a week-long injury break.

Special: Heidenheim has already won two of three away games in the league – as many as in the entire second half of the season.
