CBS “60 Minutes” airs two different answers from Vice President Harris to the same question

CBS aired two different answers to the same question in its “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, replacing a clip of the Democratic candidate that aired Sunday on “Face the Nation” as its primetime interview package on Monday special broadcast was broadcast.

Harris was mocked by conservatives when CBS showed footage of her performing a lengthy “word salad” on Sunday's “Face the Nation” to promote the “60 Minutes” session when Bill Whitaker asked why it looked like she was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu didn't listen to the United States. However, the vice president's lengthy response was not included in the version that aired Monday night on “60 Minutes.” Instead, a shorter, more targeted answer to the same question was shown.

“Well, Bill, the work that we have done has led to a number of movements by Israel in this region that were very much triggered by or the result of many things, including our advocacy of what was happening in the region “Has to happen.” Harris responded in the “Face the Nation” version.

Sometimes interviews are edited to save time, but when CBS aired the interview Monday night, Harris had a different answer to the exact same question.

“We will not stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need to end this war,” Harris said.

It's unclear why CBS aired two different answers to the same question. However, CBS released both clips on YouTube. CBS News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Trump campaign asked CBS to release the full interview unedited on Tuesday.

“On Sunday, 60 Minutes teased Kamala's highly anticipated sit-down interview with one of her worst word salads yet, drawing intense criticism on social media. During the full interview Monday night, the word salad was incorrectly edited to tone down Kamala's word salad “Idiot reaction,” said Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt. “Why did 60 Minutes decide not to air Kamala’s whole word salad, and what else didn’t they air? The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript of Kamala's sit-down interview. We call on 60 Minutes and CBS to publish it.” What do she and Kamala have to hide?”
