CeeDee Lamb had an elegant response to Troy Aikman's claim that the Cowboys WRs are “lazy.”

The Dallas Cowboys will return to prime time on Sunday night when they travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in what has become a huge game for both struggling teams.

The Cowboys are just 3-3 and are coming off a 47-9 loss to the Lions in Week 6. The 49ers, on the other hand, are 3-4 and suffered a loss at home to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

The Cowboys have faced a lot of criticism so far this season, including some harsh words from their former QB, Hall of Famer Troy Aikman. The three-time Super Bowl champion recently interviewed the team's receivers and said they can be lazy at times and have difficulty running good routes.

“I think they run terrible routes,” Aikman said earlier this month. “And that’s what I thought about beyond this year too. I think CeeDee (Lamb) needs to improve in route running. As a quarterback, if you're not sure where the guys are going to be consistently, it's difficult to play the position. That's what I see. I see guys being lazy and getting off the line of scrimmage. Sometimes they run, and when they do, it's usually because they assume they're going to get the ball on that play, but when they don't, they don't. And everything is connected. I’m not impressed with that part.”

Lamb had an elegant response to that during an interview with NBC's Jason Garrett that airs Sunday night:

“As a manager, of course I understand that,” said Lamb. “You have to work. I use it as a building block. If you say these out routes are lazy then we go here every week. And I will show you my routes. You know? Personally, I see this as constructive criticism. In our line of work you can't take everything personally.

“Especially things we can control. So if we can control it, let's go out here, work on it and keep improving. As for me, I go to work, I'm a hard worker. So anything you say I don’t do, I’ll show you that I do.”
