Celtics blockbuster trade proposal to steal Giannis Antetokounmpo from Bucks

Celtics blockbuster trade proposal to steal Giannis Antetokounmpo from Bucks

Rumors are swirling around the NBA that the Milwaukee Bucks may be moving on to trade star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee has had a very poor start to the new NBA season, which has led to speculation that the core will explode.

Antetokounmpo is the most important piece of the puzzle for the Bucks and could give Milwaukee a leg up in any possible trade. Should Antetokounmpo actually become available, almost every trade in the NBA would attempt to sign him.

Even if the Boston Celtics have a hard time pursuing him, they could realistically make the Bucks one of the better potential offers in the league. While the Bucks may not want to make a deal with Boston, the Celtics could offer Antetokounmpo a real opportunity to win at a high level for years to come.

Boston has two star forwards who could entice the Bucks to make a deal. The Celtics probably wouldn't part ways with Jayson Tatum, but Jaylen Brown could be an interesting option.

It was rumored that Brown was recently traded and the Celtics could explore another deal. While Brown helped Boston win a title last season, it might be in his best interest to move on, especially if they can sign someone like Antetokounmpo.

This is what a planned blockbuster deal for the Bucks superstar could look like:

Celtics receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks receive: Jaylen Brown, 2025 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick, 2026 second-round draft pick

Signing a player like Brown for Antetokounmpo could be one of the best packages the Bucks can get. He's only 28 years old and gives the Bucks a long-term franchise foundation.

Milwaukee would also get some draft picks back through this deal. They have given away most of the future assets they own, so it may be in their best interest to strike a deal.

Boston could bring together two of the top five players in the entire NBA and they could reign together for years to come. Antetokounmpo's strong defensive skills could also be a standout for the Celtics and make them a legitimate two-way superstar.

It remains to be seen whether Milwaukee will even make Antetokounmpo available, but if so, Boston should at least explore what it would take to sign him.
