CFB World understands that Oregon conceded the 12th man penalty to help secure the upset win over the Buckeyes

The Oregon Ducks pulled off a stunning 32-31 upset over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night, and college football fans are now noticing what appeared to be an interesting coaching decision from Dan Lanning in the final seconds of the game.

The Buckeyes received the ball with 1:36 left in the game. They only needed to kick a field goal to win, but a costly penalty and a sack on quarterback Will Howard kept Ohio State at Oregon's 43-yard line with just seconds left.

This is where Lanning's possible strategic plan began. Oregon called a timeout with 10 seconds on the clock and then entered 12 men on the field. The Ducks received an infraction whistle after the snap, resulting in a five-yard penalty, but Also lasted four seconds. This gave the Buckeyes just six seconds to make a play. Howard was unable to complete a heroic play during that time, giving Oregon the victory.

Lanning didn't confirm this college football theory, but it's very likely that he planned what would happen in the final 10 seconds of the game.

Oregon moved to 6-0 on the year with the win, while Ohio State suffered its first loss of the season at 5-1. It could very well push Oregon to No. 2 in the top 25.
