Champions League: Madrid defeats Lille, 10-man Juventus takes victory | Champions League

A deserved penalty in the first half Lille a surprising 1-0 home win over the defending champions real Madrid in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday, ending the 15-time winners' 14-game unbeaten streak in the competition.

Their relentless pressure paid off in stoppage time when Eduardo Camavinga handled Edon Zhegrova's free-kick. David confidently converted the resulting penalty, which was awarded after a VAR check. The hosts continued to apply pressure in the second half and refused to wait as Real enjoyed possession and cut off the supply to England midfielder Jude Bellingham. Ancelotti sent on Mbappé and Luka Modric as replacements for Endrick and Éder Militão and Lille survived a late attack from Real.

Juventus Twice there was a deficit that stunned the hosts RB Leipzig 3-2 thanks to Francisco Conceição's winning goal in the 83rd minute, although goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was sent off in the 59th minute for a handball outside the penalty area.

Juve were 1-0 down in the 30th minute when Benjamin Sesko, who also scored for Leipzig in their opening loss to Atlético Madrid, fired a shot onto the crossbar.

The Italians, who suffered a double blow early in the game with injuries to captain Bremer and Nicolás González, equalized in the 50th minute through Dusan Vlahovic, but went 2-1 behind when Sesko scored in the 65th minute Penalty put the hosts back in front.

Serbian striker Vlahovic came to their aid again three minutes later, curling a left-footed shot into the far top corner to equalize, before Conceição completed the comeback with a superb finish.

Three minutes into the second half the game was all but over after Lookman played the ball wide to Davide Zappacosta and his cross into the six-yard box was headed home by Raoul Bellanova.

With the score at 3-0, Lookman, who also hit the crossbar in the first half, was substituted over half an hour before the end of the game and his work for the evening was done. The tie ended with the same result as the last time the two teams met in the Champions League in 2019.

Benfica's Kerem Akturkoglu, Ángel Di María, Alexander Bah and Orkun Kokcu scored a 4-0 winner AtléTico Madrid start the Champions League with two wins in a row.

A mistake by Atlético's defense gave Akturkoglu the lead in the 13th minute, and another mistake resulted in a penalty that Di María converted. Bah extended Benfica's lead with a header from a corner in the 75th minute and Kokcu completed the defeat of Diego Simeone's side from the penalty spot after Reinildo Mandava fouled substitute Zeki Amdouni.
