Chargers sign former Chiefs DB ahead of MNF matchup against Cardinals

The Los Angeles Chargers announced that they have signed former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Dicaprio Bootle from their practice squad this afternoon ahead of their Week 7 game against the Cardinals on “Monday Night Football.”

Bootle, who was part of Kansas City's Super Bowl LVII championship squad, played for the Chiefs in 2021 and 2022 but played for the Carolina Panthers last season.

Bootle, a former Nebraska Cornhusker, was beloved by fans in Kansas City, who always enjoyed hearing his name on the broadcasts during his two-year tenure with the Chiefs.

While it's unlikely that Bootle will be in the starting lineup for Los Angeles' secondary on Monday night, his presence as a special teams ace could be a boon for the Chargers.

It is unclear whether Bootle will remain on Los Angeles' active roster after this game or whether the Chargers intend to return him to the practice squad before Week 8.

Stay tuned to Los Angeles' game against the Cardinals to see if the former Chiefs defensive back earns playing time.
