CJ Spiller was officially inducted into Clemson's Ring of Honor on Saturday morning.

It was an emotional ceremony for Spiller, who is now Clemson's running backs coach. He starred as a running back for Clemson from 2006 to 2009 and played a key role on offense during Dabo Swinney's first season as head coach.

In 2009, Spiller passed for 1,212 yards and 12 touchdowns. He finished 6th in Heisman Trophy voting that season and earned All-America honors. Spiller ranks 4th in Clemson's all-time rushing rankings with 3,547 yards in his four-year career.

Virginia coach Tony Elliott, who previously played and coached for Clemson, also joined in the applause during the ceremony.

Spiller is the eighth former individual football player to be inducted into Clemson's Ring of Honor, which the program says is the “highest honor a Clemson student-athlete can receive.” Spiller is the first soccer player inducted since Levon Kirkland in 2019.
