Colorado St. promotes game against SJSU, Blaire Fleming, but turns off comments

So far, four college volleyball teams have refused to play against San Jose State, where transgender player Blaire Fleming plays.

But Colorado State won't be adding its name to that list.

On Thursday morning, the Rams promoted their Mountain West Thursday night matchup against SJSU. However, they have disabled comments on their post.

Southern Utah became the first team to cancel a game against San Jose State. They wouldn't confirm that they did it because of Blaire Fleming, but they didn't deny it either.

Because this game was a non-conference contest, it was classified as a canceled game, which had no impact on either school's record.

Since then, however, three Mountain West opponents have canceled their contests against SJSU and those games have been forfeited.

Boise State became the first conference school to fold last week. Then, earlier this week, Wyoming followed suit.

On Wednesday, Utah State forfeited its scheduled game on Oct. 23, three weeks before it even took place.

That means San Jose State is 4-0 in conference play despite having only played one game.

They are on track to secure first place in the Mountain West Conference volleyball tournament, scheduled for late November.

But if they want to stay undefeated, they'll have to earn it on the court against Colorado State on Thursday night.

The Rams are hosting the game and are calling it their “annual all-inclusive excellence game.”

The Spartans will take the court for the first time since Sept. 24, when they defeated Fresno State 3-1.

Fleming is second on the team in several key categories, including points, kills and blocks.

San Jose State will look to improve on its 10-0 record this season and contribute to its best start in school history.
