Dana White reacts to Francis Ngannou's PFL win, claims the real UFC 'superfight' is Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou made his PFL “SmartCage” debut last weekend in Riyadh, flooring and beating Brazilian slugger Renan Ferreira to capture the “Super Fight” heavyweight title at Pay- per view (PPV).

What did UFC CEO Dana White think about The Predator's appearance?

“It was better than Donn Davis,” White told reporters at the Power Slap 9 press conference. “Much better.”

White, who never had a good relationship with Ngannou, has been targeted in recent months by PFL chief executive Donn Davis.

Additionally, the PFL continues to challenge UFC to a crossover fight between Ngannou and Jones, a media challenge not unlike M-1's co-promotional campaign during former PRIDE heavyweight god Fedor Emelianenko's heyday.

White has an alternative solution for dreamy fight fans.

“I think the fans are dreaming of Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall,” White continued. “This is the fight I think they dream of. I think if Stipe (Miocic) wins the fight, or if Jones wins the fight, I think those two guys will fight Aspinall. I think that whoever wins, Stipe and Jon should give Aspinall the same chance they had.”

Assuming they don’t retire.

Jones will defend his heavyweight title against Miocic in the UFC 309 main event in New York City next month, a fight expected to determine the greatest heavyweight champion in UFC history. However, unlike Miocic, Jones does not have a win against Ngannou.

Who is to blame? It all depends on who you ask.
