Dave Portnoy reacts to Trump's election victory

Podcaster and political commentator Dave Portnoy reacted to Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election after a tumultuous campaign in a video shared on social media.

“He just didn’t win. He won for fun: he won the elections, he won the popular vote, he got more votes than last time,” Portnoy said in a video shared on his Instagram account in the early hours of Wednesday. “Just full support of the Republicans and Donald Trump and an indictment of the Democrats.”

The Fox News Decision Desk predicted a Trump victory on Wednesday after he scored key victories in a handful of battleground states, including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Portnoy said Trump won by a larger margin than before because the Democratic Party decided to offend independents and other voters.

“The Democrats gave us no choice,” he said. “This was the worst campaign and the sheer arrogance and moral superiority drove people away. If you say you're voting for Trump, suddenly you're a Nazi, you're Hitler, you're trash. Enough. Enough!”

“Millions and millions of people voted for Trump,” Portnoy continued. “He clearly won. He won decisively.”

“So when you call us that, you're calling the majority of the country 'racists, Hitlers, Nazis,'” Portnoy said. “I don’t think you understand what that means. You are alienating all these middle class people by acting like you are better than us, smarter than us, and by openly insulting our intelligence.”

Portnoy said Harris accused voters of believing Trump was a threat to democracy and that the vice president had focused her campaign on “fearmongering.”

“This is garbage,” he said. “Tonight is about the Democrats. Congratulations, Donald Trump, I voted for him. I felt like I had no choice but to vote for him because of the Democratic campaign.”

“You are alienating half the country. More of the same,” Portnoy said, addressing the Democratic Party directly.
