Daylan McCutcheon talks about his commitment to Texas

Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy On300 receiver Daylan McCutcheon announced his commitment to Texas on Thursday.

The Florida State alum also considered Texas A&M. He told Steve Sarkian and the staff earlier the day he arrived.

“What I liked most is seeing coach Sarkisian offensively and seeing how he can utilize the wide receivers in his style of play,” McCutcheon told On3. “Obviously Coach Jackson was the one who recruited me the longest because of how he built our relationship over the years and because he comes from the NFL, and that's what made me fall in love with Texas. Especially because they’re so close to home.”

McCutcheon will be the No. 21 prospect for the Longhorns in the 2025 cycle. He was there in the win over Mississippi State.

“The fact that I obviously feel like they're going to have quarterbacks that can get me the ball if I go to Texas,” McCutcheon said.

“What’s special about them is that they’re in the state of Texas, where I grew up. Secondly, how offensively they are in the receiver game and how the quarterbacks play.

“I’m happy to have found a place to sit down and enjoy the rest of my season.”

On3 ranks McCutcheon as the No. 12 receiver nationally and No. 69 overall. He complements a Longhorns class that was previously ranked No. 6 nationally.

The Longhorns may have the best receiver class in the country with McCutcheon joining five-star players Kaliq Lockett And Jaime Ffrench.
