“Deadpool and Wolverine” gets a release date soon on Disney Plus

Disney has decided it's time to self-release its biggest movie of the year on Disney Plus and has announced when Deadpool and Wolverine will be released on the service.

It's soon, so don't pay a lot of money for rent now. The Deadpool and Wolverine Disney Plus release date is November 12, three and a half months after its theatrical release. Honestly, not a bad turnaround time.

Although it is only The MCU film was released in 2024, although it is more of an undead FOX film. Technically speaking, Deadpool and Wolverine achieved insane success at the box office, setting an all-time record for an R-rated film. In fact, with $1.33 billion worldwide, it is the top 20 highest-grossing film of all time, making it the seventh highest-grossing MCU film, an exceptionally impressive feat. Here is a list.

  1. Avengers: Endgame – $2.79 billion
  2. Avengers: Infinity War – $2.05 billion
  3. Spider-Man: No Way Home – $1.95 billion
  4. The Avengers – $1.52 billion
  5. Avengers: Age of Ultron – $1.4 billion
  6. Black Panther – $1.34 billion
  7. Deadpool and Wolverine – $1.33 billion
  8. Iron Man 3 – $1.26 billion
  9. Captain America: Civil War – $1.15 billion
  10. Spider-Man: Far From Home – $1.132 billion
  11. Captain Marvel – $1.131 billion

Honestly, an interesting list. No wonder all three Avengers films are included, plus Civil War, which was a sort of mini-Avengers film in itself. No Way Home had huge success with the promised return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Spider-Men as it wasn't exactly a secret. “Black Panther” is by far the best debut solo film. It's still pretty baffling to me that Captain Marvel made $1.13 billion because honestly, it wasn't great. And it's a tragedy, the better The Marvels was a disaster, grossing only a fraction of that at $206 million. I just think that's crazy, even though it was just the wrong movie released at the wrong time.

As for the future MCU, we have Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts and the all-important Fantastic Four next year, where Deadpool and Wolverine flew solo in 2024. Will any of this make a billion? I suspect Fantastic Four will do that, but I don't think the others will. Maybe I'm wrong, and that doesn't mean those other movies won't be good, but a non-Steve Rogers Cap movie is a hard sell right from the start, and while the Thunderbolts trailer is great, it is still a film made up of many things B and C list mostly anti-heroes/villains. We'll see. For now, get ready to rewatch Deadpool and Wolverine here in two weeks.
