December 10th will be a big day for Power Rangers fans

Hasbro and Digital Eclipse have revealed this Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind will be released on December 10th on all major platforms. The development team of Rita's rewind shared the date with a new gameplay trailer that showcased various levels and confirmed that pre-orders are now available.

The news came almost five months later Rita's rewind was revealed during Summer Game Fest. Inspired by 90s beat-em-up titles, Rita's rewind will give fans the chance to play as the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Jason, Billy, Trini, Zack and Kimberly. In addition to the Rangers, various power weapons and Dinozords can be used to lead the fight against Rita Repulsa and her horde of monsters. The game's true villain is the time-traveling Robo-Rita, a robot clone of Rita from the Netflix special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Alwayswho will stop at nothing to defeat the Rangers.

However, Power Rangers Fans won't have to wait much longer to play Rita's rewind. In a new trailer that lasted less than two minutes, Digital Eclipse and Hasbro confirmed this Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind would be released on Tuesday, December 10th on all major platforms with a starting price of $34.99. The Steam version of Rita's rewind There is currently a 15% discount, bringing the price down to $29.74. The trailer begins with Rita emerging from her prison on the moon, paralleling the film's original intro Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show. The trailer then shows Robo-Rita appearing through a time portal as she points her staff at the command center. The original five Rangers then spring into action as the trailer shows off 2D beat-em-up sequences and vehicle levels featuring the Dinozords.

The trailer also revealed that Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger, will be part of the game's main story alongside Robo-Rita. This follows what happened in the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangersas Tommy was under a mind control spell caused by an evil sword Rita made. In a crucial duel between the Red and Green Rangers, Jason disarmed Tommy and destroyed the sword with his Power Blaster, breaking the spell and freeing Tommy from Rita's clutches. Tommy will join the squad after the players win the main campaign.

Inspired by arcade hits of the 90s, Rita's rewind is full of nostalgic callbacks from that long time Power Rangers Fans might recognize it. How it will compare to others Power Rangers games remains to be seen.

In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, the team faces off against a robot reincarnation of the Power Rangers' long-time nemesis. Robo-Rita has summoned a portal to send herself back in time so she can finally defeat the Power Rangers by forming an alliance with her younger self. Together, Robo-Rita and Rita Repulsa rewind, rewrite, and remix the past to stop the Power Rangers from coming into being and thereby change the course of history.

Will the two Ritas and their army of monstrous enemies from across the MMPR timeline finally succeed in destroying the Power Rangers? Or will these teenagers with attitude learn to work together and counteract this disastrous chronological collaboration?
