Documentary about 50 Cent's sexual assault allegations against Diddy purchased by Netflix

Netflix is producing a documentary by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson about sex trafficking and racketeering charges, as well as sexual assault and abuse allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Alexandria Stapleton is directing the project, which is currently in production.

“This is a story with significant human impact. “It's a complex narrative that spans decades and is not limited to just the headlines or clips we've seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton said in an exclusive statement diversity. “We remain true to our commitment to giving a voice to the voiceless and presenting authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we would like to ask everyone to remember that Sean Combs' story is not the whole story of hip-hop and its culture. Our goal is to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the broader contributions of culture.”

50 Cent serves as an executive producer for his G-Unit Film & Television banner, while Stapleton serves as an executive producer for House of Nonfiction and also produces Texas Crew Productions.

50 Cent initially announced that G-Unit would produce the docuseries in early December. At this point, Combs had been sued by four different women, starting with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whose lawsuit opened the floodgates against him and with whom he quickly reached a settlement. At the time, 50 Cent shared a clip. Proceeds from the documentary will be used to support victims of sexual assault, the rapper and producer said.

Just last week, Combs was arrested in New York and charged with three counts: conspiracy to commit racketeering; sex trafficking involving force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation for prostitution. He pleaded not guilty but remains in custody after being denied bail at his appeal hearing.

Combs has also been hit with several other lawsuits. In February, his former employee Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones alleged that Combs made unwanted sexual advances and forced him to hire and have relationships with sex workers in 2023. Jones herself was later mentioned in a lawsuit in April in which Grace O'Marcaigh alleged that Combs' son, Christian “King” Combs, while working as a steward on a yacht, forced her to perform oral sex on him and that Combs was the captain of the Yacht paid to keep the matter secret. In May, model Crystal McKinney alleged that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2003, and earlier this month, former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard sued Sean “Diddy” Combs for verbal abuse, assault, sexual assault and intentional infliction emotional stress.

In May, CNN reported on a leaked video that showed Combs grabbing, pushing and kicking Cassie at a hotel. Days later, he said he took “full responsibility” for his actions in the video.

That was the first and only time he admitted wrongdoing. He had previously denied everything and released a statement on social media in December that read “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” Combs said in a statement posted on social media in December. “For the past few weeks I have sat in silence and watched as people attempted to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he said. “Disgusting allegations have been made against me by people looking for a quick payday. Let me be clear: I have done none of the terrible things I am accused of. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.” The post no longer appears on his Instagram account, but remains pinned to the top of his X account (formerly Twitter) at the time of publishing this article.

After Homeland Security raided his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March, he also posted on Instagram the video for his 1998 song “Victory,” in which he runs from police, with the caption “Bad Boy for Life.” .

This is the first official confirmation from Netflix of involvement in the series, although 50 Cent discussed the project with The Hollywood Reporter in July.
