Donald Trump is suing CBS over the “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris

WASHINGTON – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sued CBS on Thursday over an interview his Democratic rival Kamala Harris aired on the news show “60 Minutes” in early October, saying the lawsuit was misleading, a court filing said.

The complaint, filed in federal court in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that the station aired two different answers from Harris to a question about the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Kamala Harris said on “60 Minutes” that unemployment is at an all-time low for everyone. Half true

The version that aired during the Oct. 6 broadcast of “60 Minutes” did not include what the lawsuit describes as a “word salad” response from Harris about the Biden administration's influence on Israel's conduct of the war.

“Former President Trump's repeated claims against 60 Minutes are false,” a CBS News spokesperson said. “The lawsuit Trump filed against CBS today is completely without merit and we will defend ourselves vigorously.”

Trump and Harris face each other in a tight race ahead of Tuesday's US presidential election, polls show.

The lawsuit sought a jury trial and about $10 billion in damages, the filing shows. It alleges violations of a Texas law that prohibits fraudulent conduct in business.

Trump repeatedly attacked the network during the election campaign in connection with this episode and threatened to revoke CBS's broadcast license if he were elected. CBS said Trump backed out of his scheduled interview with “60 Minutes.”
