Don't put the umbrella away: the chance of rain on Sunday remains

Check Live Radar:

HOUSTON – Fort Bend County and western parts of Harris County received 1 to 4 inches of rain Saturday. Rainfall amounts on Sunday will be less impressive.

Sunday showers continue:

Don't put the umbrella away. There will be spotty to isolated showers and an isolated thunderstorm. Sunday morning will see the least amount of rain, but more showers will move into southeast Texas through the afternoon. Rain showers on Sunday evening will be isolated before ceasing at 7pm.

The chance of rain will decrease Sunday afternoon

Time change:

Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend. Most devices will automatically change this for you, but ovens, microwaves, old cars and wall clocks need to be reset an hour before bedtime on Saturday. 2 a.m. turns into 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, theoretically giving us an extra hour of sleep. I say theoretically because for this to happen you have to go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time on Friday and Saturday nights. For example, if you go to bed at 10 p.m. and get up at 7 a.m. both nights, you'll get an extra hour of sleep. Since it's 2am twice on Sunday, you get an extra hour. This is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO2 detectors.

Big changes to our sunrises and sunsets begin on Sunday. Early risers usually love this time change as our sunrise occurs at 6am starting Sunday. Sunset is an hour earlier, around 5:30 p.m.

Early Week Front:

A cold front will move across Texas on Monday. Ahead of the front, there will be showers across southeast Texas, but the most consistent will occur as the front arrives late Monday into Tuesday. So be prepared for a wet day if you go to the polls.

The front brings a soggy situation for Monday and Tuesday

Tropical view:

There are two areas of development in the Atlantic basin. One is in the southwest Caribbean Sea and has a 70% chance of developing in the next two days and 80% in the next seven days. The next development area is north of Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. There is a 10% chance of this wave developing in the next seven days. Historically, storms this time of year do not impact the Texas coast, but we will continue to monitor the path of these waves.

There are two tropical waves that could develop into a tropical system over the next 7 days.

10 day forecast:

A cold front arrives at the start of the week, bringing more rain and thunderstorms on Election Day. Another front arrives towards the end of the week, increasing the chance of rain through the weekend.

Rain remains in the forecast this week as we observe a number of cold fronts
