Draymond Green rants about his dislike of Thunder's postgame interview tradition

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green knows a thing or two about winning an NBA title. He has four championship rings to his credit.

While Green admitted that he believes now is the time for the up-and-coming Oklahoma City Thunder to chase the rings, he also pointed out one thing that could be holding them back.

“The only thing I see from the OKC team that is a little concerning to me is their postgames. Seven people in the interview,” Green said on a recent episode of his podcast. “You need a certain seriousness to win in this league. And there is a certain fear that you have to instill in teams in order to win. I just don't know if they're scaring the teams with all the bromance and stuff like that.” after the game.

“That's cool. There is a time and a place for that. But every time someone is in an interview, you have seven, eight people (in the background)? …I'm all for having fun; It's an 82 game season, you're supposed to have fun, but you also have to understand that people are looking for you The Team.”

Back in January, the Thunder began broadcasting their teammates' postgame interviews on television, rallying around the reporter, who was often Nick Gallo of the local show Bally Sports Oklahoma. Players also occasionally barked during the interview or joked with each other while the cameras were rolling.

It became a nightly tradition for the Thunder, who sailed through the 2023-24 season with the league's second-youngest roster and secured the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

The Thunder have brought back their interview routine for the 2024-25 season — but Green is clearly not a fan.

Green and the Warriors will face the Thunder for the first time this season on November 10 at Paycom Center. If Oklahoma City wins, they might send a few extra players to the postgame interview just to get an idea.
