Eagles Power Rankings Summary: Week 6

Eagles Power Rankings Summary: Week 6

Are power rankings completely stupid and meaningless? Yes. Yes they are. Personally, though, I click whenever I see them. And now that I've hooked you with the promises of many power rankings, you'll read it and like it.

Here are the Eagles' national rankings after Week 5 of the regular season. Oh, and here's our version of this sold-out ranking too.

NFL.com: 11

Despite the last-minute home loss to the Falcons, I think it would be fair to say that the Eagles have shown more good than bad through three games. Four games in? Not so much. On the other hand, the Week 4 Eagles were missing several key components, particularly on offense, so it's hard to put too much stock in that one 33-16 loss in Tampa. Still, there was also a worrying trend of self-inflicted errors, particularly sloppy penalties and insane turnovers, that held Philadelphia back significantly. Add to that Saquon Barkley's drop against Atlanta, the wasted points in several games and Jalen Hurts' six sacks against the Bucs. The stagnant pass rush falls into a different category, but remains a major problem. The NFC East may not be out of reach, but the Cowboys are suddenly back in business and the Commanders don't seem to be going anywhere. There is a lot to do.

#JimmySays: The best the Eagles have seen this season was in Week 1 against the Packers, and I don't think it's a coincidence that Week 1 was the only game AJ Brown played in.

ESPN: 11

Fantasy surprise: QB Jalen Hurts

Hurts scored the fifth-most fantasy points (357) in 2023, ranking second among quarterbacks behind Josh Allen. This season it was a different story. Hurts is currently QB12 in average points per game (16.9). He has six total touchdowns and seven turnovers – the second-most giveaways in the NFL entering Week 5. His tally of two rushing scores is a byproduct of turnovers and the high impact of running back Saquon Barkley (five total touchdowns). Hurt's total is expected to rise as star receiver AJ Brown (hamstring) is expected to be in the lineup for the first time since Week 1.

#JimmySays: It's no surprise that Hurts' numbers dropped when his receivers were Jahan Dotson, Johnny Wilson and Parris Campbell. More worryingly, its sales have increased.

USA today: 9

They should be rested from the bye as fullbacks AJ Brown (hamstring injury) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) are expected to return Sunday. And for a team that needs to get healthy, figuratively speaking, a date with Cleveland is perfect.

#JimmySays: The Browns really are a terrible football team right now, and Deshaun Watson has been terrible. It will be interesting to see if the Browns' stupid owner allows the head coach to bench him.

Yahoo: 9

Philly's next four games are against the Browns, Giants, Bengals and Jaguars. No NFL game is easy, but all are winnable. If the Eagles, presumably healthier after the bye, struggle over the next four weeks, we know something is wrong.

#JimmySays: The quarterback is careless with the football, there is virtually no edge rush, and the schemes on both sides of the ball were boring. The question is not whether something is wrong or not. They are. It depends more on whether they get them repaired.

The ESPN Matchup Predictor gives the Eagles the following odds of beating these four teams:• Browns: 69.5%
• At Giants: 60.8%
• At the Bengals: 47.1%
• Jaguars: 65.5% If they lose more than one of these games, the criticism of this team will get pretty ugly.

CBS: 16

They're coming off their bye and desperately need a win to cool off Nick Sirianni. Jalen Hurts needs to get better.

#JimmySays: CBS with the fire analysis as always.

PFT: 13

There are some winnable games coming up. Now they just have to win it.

#JimmySays: 🔥🔥🔥
