Early voting begins in Oklahoma amid concerns about nationwide election unrest

Early voting begins tomorrow in Oklahoma, and the State Election Board is reminding voters that no excuse is needed to vote early.

But given reports of election unrest across the country, some voters may be worried about election interference.

NewsChannel 8 spoke with Cole Allen of the Oklahoma Policy Institute, who says incidents like burning ballot boxes are not a problem in Oklahoma.

Allen says we don't have a Dropbox system.

He says there have been no issues in Oklahoma with ballot security or ballots not being counted. However, if you have concerns, please contact your county or state board of elections.

“Oklahoma has some of the most accurate and secure elections in the country,” Allen said.

“Early voting will take place in two locations,” Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado said.

Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado says early voting will take place at the Tulsa County Election Board location at 500 North Denver and the Tulsa County Board's new location at 12000 E. Skelly Drive.

They are encouraging people to go to the 12000 East Skelly Drive location and say there will be more parking available there.

Misha Mohr of the Oklahoma State Election Board reminds voters that campaigning is prohibited within 300 feet of a polling place entrance or the last person in line.

“Election is legally defined as advocating for or against a candidate or issue that appears on the ballot or may appear on a future ballot. So think about what you're wearing when you walk out the door,” he told Mohr.

Mohr says campaigning can be verbal or something physical like a jacket, t-shirt, scarf or hat. Anything that expresses support or opposition to a candidate or issue on the ballot.

Early voting takes place tomorrow through Saturday, November 2nd.

Wednesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
