Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Early Pickup for Week 7

It's never too early to prepare for your next game and have the chance to strengthen your fantasy football lineups. Here are some options to consider for Week 7, which features two teams (the Bears and Cowboys) on byes.

Isaac Guerendo, RB, San Francisco 49ers (4% on roster)

The 49ers' bad luck with injuries at RB continues this season. San Francisco had already lost Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell and was without Jordan Mason, who secured part of Thursday's win, because of a shoulder injury. He attempted to return but ultimately spent the rest of the game on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a sprained ACL.

Enter: 2024 draft pick, Isaac Guerendo.

Guerendo carried the load when Mason was unavailable and looked good doing it, rushing 10 times for 99 yards against the Seahawks. He had a walk-in touchdown but decided to stop just short of the goal line to pass the time.

Mason's injury is being reported on a day-to-day basis, and with the 49ers having ten days to heal before the 49ers return to play, there's a chance he could go in Week 7. That said, since San Fran is already so thin on RB and CMC's return and the date is still uncertain, it's incumbent on the team to keep Mason updated. At the very least, Guerendo is a powerful backup player with short-term individual value who should be used in many more leagues.

Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals (16%)

To the dismay of Cardinals fans and fantasy managers alike, Marvin Harrison Jr. left the Week 6 game against the Packers with a concussion. As expected, Trey McBride was the first option in the pecking order for Arizona, but wide receiver Michael Wilson scored the team's only touchdown of the day.

Another big target for Kyler Murray, the 6-foot-2 Wilson has historically served as a secondary option in the passing game, but he will likely be needed to step up if MHJ has to miss Week 7 while in protocol. If that's the case, Wilson would become a starting option in deep leagues.

DeMario Douglas, WR, New England Patriots (7%)

A week after DeMario Douglas led the Patriots' offense with Jacoby Brissett at center, the receiver did the same in Drake Mayes' first start.

Maye shined in a really tough duel, and Douglas was often the beneficiary. The Patriots may not be all that rich on offense and their line isn't great, but Maye and Douglas showed a strong connection. And not every week will be as tough as Week 6 – the Patriots will travel to London to face the Jaguars in Week 7. Jacksonville's defense has been the gift that keeps giving to both fantasy and reality this season. Douglas is officially a flex option with upside potential.
