Former NBA coach Sam Mitchell disparages the co-host's speech in the live broadcast because of a salary joke

The broadcast of “NBA Gametime Live” on Friday evening quickly got out of hand former NBA coach Sam Mitchell doxxed his co-host Chris Miles after a seemingly harmless salary joke.

The incident began during pre-game coverage Golden State Warriors game when Mitchell, 61, lamented that basketball coaches, in this case Stever Kerr, were not receiving medals at the Olympics.

“I guess that just tells you what happens at international level, how they value coaches – not at all. How do coaches not get a gold medal?”

“I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show,” Miles quickly replied. “I think maybe you should volunteer, my friend.”

The former NBA Coach of the Year didn't seem to appreciate the comment and things went downhill from there.

“The last time I looked at my check it was pretty tight. So hey, I'm accepting donations. Why don’t you get some of the money you have for bragging about it over there?”

Miles tried to laugh off the tense confrontation, but Mitchell wouldn't let up.

“Oh, I’m sorry, have you rented out your beach house? in Florida during the hurricane? Or how about your townhouse over in Buckhead? You want to call me, I mean, come on. You scream broken and hungry, let's just see. I know what you have and where you live, young guy, so you have to stop.

Miles was visibly uncomfortable and said there was “spit” in the show, but Mitchell disagreed and described himself as a “truth teller”.

“You’re the one crying up here, poor and destitute, when – do I have to go further and further, more and more, or do you want to stop right now?”

Miles returned his focus to the game, but Mitchell continued and even threatened to reveal his home address.

“That's what I thought you should do. I told you, young man, to stop messing with me on national television, I'm not home right now.

As the show continued later, Mitchell eventually revealed the address of one of Miles' properties. Miles got to the point, but Mitchell had one final comment.

“This game can't move fast enough.
