Georgia capitalizes on Florida's botched FG attempt to take its first lead against the Gators

Georgia battled Florida on Saturday in the team's annual Cocktail Party match in Jacksonville. But late in the third quarter, the Bulldogs took their first lead of the night, thanks in part to a special team mistake by the Gators.

With less than three minutes left in the third, the Gators prepared for a 51-yard field goal attempt that would have given them a 16-13 lead. Instead, the snap eluded the holder and the ball rolled all the way back to Florida before being covered by Jalon Walker at the Gators' 36.

Here is the video of the botched field goal attempt:

Three plays later, Georgia took the lead. Carson Beck connected with Cash Jones, who dodged a would-be ankle tackle and took him into the end zone as the Dawgs took the lead.

Georgia had a 136-10 lead in total yardage in the third quarter. That was despite a difficult outing for Beck, who had thrown three interceptions before his touchdown pass to Jones, the signal-caller's first touchdown of the game.

The Bulldogs entered the day on a three-game winning streak against the Gators, but they got all they could handle from the Gators on Saturday.
