Gus Edwards' injury has Chargers fans hoping for a breakout from Kimani Vidal

Gus Edwards' injury has Chargers fans hoping for a breakout from Kimani Vidal

A very vocal portion of the Los Angeles Chargers fan base has been eagerly pounding the table to see more of rookie running back Kimani Vidal.

And with Gus Edwards suddenly out with an injury, maybe they could make it.

When the Chargers face the Denver Broncos in Week 6, the sixth-round rookie from Troy will be there.

In fact, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh specifically referred to Vidal as a guy who will make his first professional appearance if Edwards is out.

After putting up some standout performances in college and putting up impressive performances over the summer, it's no wonder Chargers fans want to see the explosive rookie in the rotation alongside the grueling JK Dobbins.

And with running-oriented Greg Roman now at the helm, Vidal will continue to be fed when things heat up.
