Harrison Ford endorses for president just days before the 2024 election

Actor Harrison Ford has announced his run for president just days before the 2024 election.

The Indiana Jones actor took the opportunity to speak out despite “never really wanting to talk about it much” and urged voters to “move on” with Kamala Harris.

“When dozens of former members of the Trump administration sound the alarm and say, 'For God's sake, don't do that again,' you have to pay attention,” Ford said in the dramatic black-and-white clip.

“You tell us something important. These are not gentle people. They are governors, generals, standing against the leader of the party they have fought for all their lives.”

The 82-year-old continued: “For many of them, it's the first time they've voted for someone who doesn't have an R next to their name. Because they know it really matters.”

Ford then directly compared Harris to Trump. “Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her on policies or ideas, and then, as we have done for centuries, we will discuss them, work together on them and move on. The other – he demands unconditional loyalty. Says he wants revenge.”

The actor ended his endorsement in his typically gruff and serious tone by saying, “I'm Harrison Ford.” I have a voice, just like everyone else. And I will use it to move forward. I will vote for Kamala Harris.”

In a second video, Ford explained that he doesn't think Harris and his running mate, Tim Walz, are “perfect,” but that they believe in “the rule of law” and “in science.”

“They believe that when you govern, you do so for all Americans. They believe we can do this together. These are ideas I believe in,” Ford added.

He said Trump spent four years “embracing tyrants around the world” and turning the country against each other.

“We are not. We don't have to make America great again. We are great. All we need is to work together again. All we need is a president who will work for all of us.”

Ford is the latest star to support Harris, following Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Eminem. Trump has now been supported by people like Elon Musk, Russell Brand and Mel Gibson.

In 2020, the actor endorsed Joe Biden in the final days of the campaign. It was the first time that he had publicly supported a candidate People.
