HC Dan Campbell wasn't surprised that the Detroit Lions played well despite the elements

FIRST DOWN: BUILT FOR THIS

There's been a lot of talk this week about Detroit playing outside for the first time this season, playing in wind, rain and cold in a hostile environment at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

But it was the Lions, not the cold-seasoned Packers, who handled the environment best and played mistake-free football to earn a huge 24-14 victory, improving the season's mark to 7-1 and staying in control of first place the NFC North and the NFC Conference.

“The fact that we took care of the football. Man, we preached it all week, wet ball drills every day in practice, and man, our guys really did a great job,” head coach Dan Campbell said after the win. “(Jared) Goff cared a lot about the football and that was the difference. It was a big difference.”

Green Bay fumbled the ball three times but lost nothing, but quarterback Jordan Love also threw a critical interception that led to a game-changing pick-six by Kerby Joseph in the final minute of the first half.

This is a Detroit Lions team that, while playing indoors at Ford Field, is built for anything, according to Campbell.

“I’m not shocked one bit that we came out here and played some pretty good football in the elements,” he said. “We were made for this, man. It doesn't matter just because we're playing indoors. It doesn't matter. We can play anywhere. We can play in the snow. We can play in the rain. We can play inside.” the mud. That's just us. We're built to win, man.
